When I was growing up in the 80s, I had a big crush on Ricky Schroder of Silver Spoons Fame.

Crush Confidential: Ricky Schroder from Silver Spoons

I know I’m not alone in that. But it was significant as it shaped the way my heart worked. Those early crushes are sweet indicators that you’re capable of love, after all. And besides, I mean, he was the cuuuuutest!

Well, y’all, I have a new crush…on a candle. It burned while I shot the boudoir shoot last weekend, it burned while I primped and got ready to cohost the Step Up Women’s Network event last week and it burned as I quietly read my book last night. I’ve only had it for a few weeks and it’s already seen me through quite a bit. It’s getting serious.

And as it just so happens I found out the other day that it’s made by Ricky Schroder’s wife, Andrea Schroder. Coincidence? I think not.

Andrea Schroder’s Star Jasmine candle ($35) both soothes me and makes me feel sexy. Not an easy feat, my friends. So it’s the perfect sweet-smelling accessory for my boudoir and bedside.

Andrea started making candles – out of necessity and passion – as gifts for her loved ones.  She wanted them to be able to leave her home with a keepsake that would light them from the outside while her hospitality had lit them from within. See, like so many of us, she wanted a candle that burns clean, provides light…and won’t give us a headache. The pure organic coconut oil she uses to make the candles accentuates the scent without being too overpowering which is just what we want.

The candles radiate the the things that are most important to Andrea: love, light, beauty, nature and family. And what a goooorgeous family she and Ricky have!

And how cute is this? Every candle is hand poured and packaged with a poem written by her grandmother. If these candles aren’t crush-worthy then I don’t know what is!

So while my crush on Ricky Schroder may have ended decades ago, my crush on Andrea Schroder and her candles is just beginning. Stay tuned for our next chapter…
