*On the eyes:

1) Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Amber Haze ($27) – Apply the crayon from crease to lash line and blend with brush. Then, use the crayon to color in the bottom lash line.

2) Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Luxury Palette ($52) – Apply the glitter shadow (bottom left) over the Amber Haze pencil.

3) Charlotte Tilbury Rock’N’Kohl Eye Cheat Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil ($27) -Apply in inner corners to brighten the eyes, making them appear wider and brighter! It’s also great to apply the lower waterline when you want to brighten the eye and make your defined lash line look even more defined.

4) L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Volumizing Mascara ($7.99) – stretches those lashes from root to tip to extend and plump. Apply to top and bottom lashes.

*On the brows: 5) L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper ($8.99) – Brush it up and across!

*On the cheeks: 6) Jouer Cosmetics Luminizing Liquid Highlighter in Golden Light ($39) – applied on orbital bone and upper cheekbone

I often feel like I was more confident at 6 than 36.

But I have really found my confidence in the last two years.

So who – or – what’s my latest crush? Well, here are a few hints.

My Current Crush: Jane Eyeshadow in Dawn – fitting, isn’t it?

Now, I know what you’re thinking.” She only has a crush on this Jane eyeshadow because of the name. Ugh. How narcissistic.” But au contraire, mon frère.

My Current Crush: Jane Cosmetics Shadow in Dawn…it's just a coincidence that it's my name, I swear!

I am crushing hard on this shadow because of its golden-coppery, highly-pigmented, long-wearing hue. This shimmering shade adds light and warmth to my eyes making them glow without looking too fiery (i.e., orange – yikes).

Jane Dawn (and me - Dawn) in the natural light of, um, afternoon. But wouldn't have it been cool if it WAS dawn?

Nope, My Current Crush: Jane Eyeshadow in Dawn ($8) is a high-performance powerhouse of a powder shadow that wears on for hours and makes your eyes pop. But the reason I love it most of all? Because at $8 a pop, you can get a bevy of these beautiful shadows without breaking the bank.

Makeup Monday: Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer

I love dewy skin. Why? Because nothing says young and lively more than a glowing, gorgeous complexion.
If you’re on the dry side like me, you try virtually anything and everything to get your skin to glow like it did when you were 20. Thanks to Josie Maran’s Argan Illuminizer, your skin can glow and glow and your age will not be for anyone to know.

My most common question I get is “how do you get that glow in photos?”

Well, here it is. Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer is my not-so-secret weapon to look glowing and youthful in photos and it leaves me looking candlelit when there’s not a candle to be found. So natural looking, it’s as at home in a candlelit room as it is on a bright, sunny day. This ultra-light, golden skin brightener with a bit of bronze lights me up and, thus, helps me light up a room.

My preferred method so as not to use, or waste, too much is to unscrew the pump out of the jar and dot a small amount on the top of my hand. Warm it up between my index fingers and press on to the tops of my cheekbones as well as right above the bow of my lip. I also love using on my eyelids under eyeshadow for a glistening, glowing, gorgeous eye! And you can’t beat the subtle sheen it gives to your décolletage and legs when mixed with your favorite moisturizer.

Due to the power it packs into a pearl-sized amount, it will last you months and months! So you’ll not only look like a college kid, you’ll spend like one too!

Why, thank you!

It’s soooo easy to get “that glow” when there are so many illuminating/glow-getting products on the market today. People are fearful of looking frosty or ashy, they tell me. That is the shimmer of the past. Today’s shimmer is glowing, dewy, fresh and YOUTHFUL!

Here’s your BeautyFrosting “Glow” Recipe:

Start with moisturized skin. Illuminators will cause parched skin to look downright desert-like. So be sure to press your favorite moisturizer or oil (I’ve been using Creme de La Mer for 16 years) into your skin.

Follow with a tinted sunscreen. I love Bobbi Brown’s Extra SPF 25 Tinted Balm for dry skin, Stila Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer

or Josie Maran Tinted Moisturizer.

Then grab your favorite blender brush (I love Armani’s) and one of the following illuminators: Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer #3
