I would be posting my High-Low of the week but I can’t think of a low to report because…

It’s BeautyFrosting’s 1st birthday!!!

 

Happy Birthday, BF!

No need to blow out the candles though, today!
I’ve already got everything I could have wished for with readers like you!

We’ll have a big celebratory giveaway later this month – when we announce the winners of our 1st annual BeautyFrosting BFF Awards! So stay tuned…

I am so grateful for each and every one of you who has read the blog daily, written questions to “Dear Dawn”, watched our videos, entered ourcontests, told your friends about BeautyFrosting, sent us a product to try for BeautyFrosting, followed BF on Facebook, on Twitter, on Instagram, on YouTube and for all of the praise, suggestions and support you have offered over this past year to me.

And I have LOTS more coming for you in this, our second year! Like what, you ask? How about Foodie Friday with food & restaurant reviews and A Southern Girl’s Guide to LA with spa & business recommendations.

How about that? It all starts THIS weekend! It’s just my way of saying -

***Special note: Why March 12th? I chose to debut BeautyFrosting last year on what would have been my beloved Nanny, Clara Margaret Hayes’s, 99th birthday. Every year that I celebrate a birthday, I am celebrating her and all of the lovely, ladylike things she stood for and taught my mom, my aunt, my cousins and me!

I miss you every day, Nanny…

Saturday Social Hour: Angeleno Magazine Red Carpet Ready

Life has been so busy and my social schedule has been so packed that this is the first Saturday Social Hour I’ve done in a while.

I loooove being busy and having events to attend but I really miss sharing them with you guys!

This past week, I was delighted to attend Angeleno Magazine’s Red Carpet Ready event at the Montage Beverly Hills.

I sipped Nicolas Feuillatte champagne, caught up with friends, ate delicious nibbles provided by Montage Beverly Hills (including a veggie spread straight from the gods), was introduced to some new beauty brands and, most importantly, was pampered!

I met a new handbag line, Joseph Nicola, that I immediately fell in love with. As gorgeous as it is on the outside, the interior is even more exquisite.

I was delighted to try the new Acqua di Parma fragrance, Magnolia. Being the southern girl that I am, I was utterly delighted and giddy with glee!

I had a pr meeting in Beverly Hills right beforehand and no time for a touch up so thank goodness the beautiful babes of Blushington were on hand to polish me up!

Naked Princess was a new-to-me line and I am totally smitten. I can’t wait to try the products and let you guys know my thoughts! As a cruelty free & paraben free line, I have a feeling many of you are gonna be in love with this line. I swatted the gloss on my hand and was so happy to feel how comfortable and moisturizing it was.

My favorite eco-friendly tanning line, Vani-T, was there on hand applying tans, and Lashfully was busy applying luscious lashes!

As you can tell, it was a busy and beautiful night. As much as I would have liked, I couldn’t make time to experience everything. Unfortunately, this means I missed Brasilian Blow Dry Bar, Spa Montage Beverly Hills “Oscar Glow” treatment, Le Mieux light exfoliation, Leonor Greyl hair conditioning, Luna D’Oro manicure, Votre Vu cosmetics and DNA EGF Renewal mini facials.

I guess that means I’ll just have to pamper myself another time. And know what?

I don’t mind a bit.

It was the fondest, most fabulous farewell a summer could ask for!

Walking onto the rooftop of the London Hotel West Hollywood this past Tuesday, for Angeleno Magazine’s Poolside Beauty Event, I was greeted by the best of beauty – and the beautiful.

Treatments and treats were being offered to photographer Amy Opoka and I from every direction. Cocktails, sushi, manis, pedis, mini oxygen facials, makeup & lash applications, fashion shows and more. Here’s a gorgeous little glimpse:

Cocktail Waiter: “Would you like a VeeV Cosmo or Lemonade?” (Yes, please! Off to a good start!)

GLAMGLOW: “Have you tried GLAMGLOW?” (I have, I’ve gushed about it on my blog, I love it and I would love for my photographer to try! So, Yes please!)

Burke Williams: “Would you like to see how your skin will look in 10 years?” (Ummmmmm…well, scary, but I guess I should? Thankfully, the future looks good thinks to major moisture and daily sunscreen over the past 2 decades. She actually says I have the most gorgeous skin she has seen that evening. Maybe she says that to everyone. Regardless, I smile and feel a tad bit better about my future. And I have a serious hankering for a Burke Williams massage and facial. My faaaaaaavorites!! )

Blushington: Would you like a makeup pick-me-up? (I’ve been dying to try you guys! And with the pretty-in-pink, gorgeous Emma Willis at the helm, count me in!)

Gold Grenade: Would you like to try our new DIY Nail art line by The New Black? (Yes!!! But I just got a manicure. No worries! I get to take a kit home with me thanks to the delicious goodie bag) 

 

Lashfully: Would you like to experience the best eyelash extensions you’ll ever have at our new boutique opening on Rodeo in September? (Um, most definitely. And y’all are so sweet!)

 

Did you see Christina Millian? Jeff Goldblum? Vanessa Simmons?  (Yes!!! And see them? Amy got some gorgeous pics!! No matter how long I live in LA, the kiddo in me will always think it’s pretty fun to see famous people in my midst. Jaded, I am not)

The other fancy & fabulous folks included in this glamorous evening on the rooftop included Tom’s Eyewear at Kitson, Thread Eyebrow Threading, Vdara Spa, Salon by Maxime, Natra Rx, Gleam, Born to Glow Tanning, Dr. Glosman Dental, Robbie Lipgloss, LA SkinAestheticsand M Cafe.

It was pretty, poolside perfection.

I left with my head in the clouds, my heart in a flutter, summer in the rearview and bags of goodies in my hand.

What could be better than that?
