I’M LOVING…Plummy Bronze Eyes & Nude Glossy Lips

When the winter comes rolling around, we often turn to bold, burgundy lips and cateye liner.
But with LA still holding sunny strong in the low 90s, I’m feeling more sizzling summer goddess than ice queen.

Someone's a little cynical of this so-called "autumn" we in LA are in the midst of.

To stay true to the season that makes me feel sexiest (um, summer) and yet welcome the colder months that the rest of the country is experiencing, I’M LOVING…Plummy Bronze Eyes & Nude Glossy Lips.

Smoky plum quartz eyes? Check. Defined glowing bronze cheekbones? Check. Glossy, butterscotch lips? Check check.

It’s J.Lo with a bit of Catherine Zeta Jones, and I’ll take both of these goddesses for muses, thank you very much.

Bonus? These featured products are all under $10. And I didn’t even plan on that. They’re just seriously my cosmetic crushes of the moment.

Easy winter beauty in under 5 minutes

Here’s how you do.

The culprits of this glam, glossy, seductive look

1) Apply shadow primer of choice (my fave is Urban Decay).

2) Apply Pixi Beauty Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Plum Quartz ($12). There are 6 shades so you can pick your poisons. I stuck with the lightest shade for a base and the darkest shades for my crease, lid and lower lash line. 6 shades for $12? Sugar, I smell a deal.

3) Apply L’Oreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner ($8.99) in Pure Purple in the waterline of both the upper and lower lashes. It lasts for up to 16 hours, so you can cause some trouble with this guy on your eyes.

4) Next up? My faaaaavorite mascara of the moment: L’Oreal Paris Miss Manga Mascara ($7.99). It beats all of the high-end brands in my book right now. I cannot get enough of that Flexor brush that paints and pumps up my lashes from root to tip. It says it boosts them 15x, but I’d say more like 50x!

5) After applying your favorite hydrating tinted moisturizer (to combat that pesky winter dry skin) and concealer, don’t forget the blush! The trick here? Well, my darlings, I used two! Both are NYX Cosmetics and only $7 buckaroos, but I used one, Passion for a pop of color, while I used Solstice Baked Blush ($7) for a medium tan with pink sheen. That’s become my new favorite blush, replacing those staple, shimmery blushes that shan’t be named. It leaves you with that gorgeous Malibu Barbie bronzed pink cheekbone that we all crave.

6) For lips, I lined the lip lightly with my favorite nude liner (Chanel Brown Copper) and then did a 1-2 nude perfect pout punch. I started with NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in Sugar Wafer ($6) and then added some glam by glossing it up with my new must-have gloss, Mark Cosmetics Total Kiss Up Hook Up Plumping Gloss in Revel ($10). Now, there’s a name for you! Why is Mark so sure you’re gonna hook up in this gloss. Wellll, as someone who has, I blame the nonsticky, high gloss sheen. And the milk chocolate meets dark cocoa seductive scent certainly doesn’t help you be less resistible.

Plummy Bronze smoky eyes and chocolate-scented, nude glossed lips? Oh, I smell a seduction coming on...

Makeup Monday: NYX Parallel Worlds Box

Fall is the time to step up the smoky eye, mute or deepen that lip color and start feeling SEXY. That’s right, beauties – even with the hustle and bustle,  fall can be an oh-so-sexy time!

But if you’re like many women, you want to know exactly which makeup to get to master that fierce fall look. Collections can sometimes be a bum deal – only containing the few things you do want and a surplus of what you DON’T want. But with NYX Parallel Worlds Box  (inspired by the film, The Mortal Instruments  - City of Bones) you’re getting a huge value because for only $25,  it contains almost everything you need to look fabulous for Fall!

NYX The Parallel Worlds Box ($25) has everything you need to look sexy & fierce this fall!

With 6 oh-so-sexy, smoky eye colors in a palette, the perfect pink blush, a neutral pink matte lip cream (which is oh-so-seductive in that Brigitte Bardot way), longlasting black liquid liner, a jumbo shimmering eye pencil and a va-va-voom volumizing mascara, it creates the perfect look in no time.
I “dawned” it last Thursday for a night of hip hop dancing for my sister-neighbor, Jennifer’s, birthday extravaganza. What was on the agenda for the night? Oh, just a super fun girls night with hours and hours of 90s hip hop dancing! Just a normal Thursday night for me. Kidding.

"Dawning" NYX Cosmetics The Parallel Worlds Box for my friend Jenn's bday extravaganza!

And it was some powerful stuff. It started out strong…

Striking a pose so you can see the drama that NYX Cosmetics The Parallel Worlds Box imparts

…and wore through hours of dancing and sweet, sweet sweating.

With the birthday girl & my sister-neighbor, Jenn. Evidence of the staying power of NYX Cosmetics The Parallel Box - a few hours into our hip hop parade, it hadn't budged!

And I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that I was asked to dance by a gentleman because of that sexy, smoky eye. But I declined. It was girls night, after all!

With my sister-neighbor, Hopey!

With its hints of magic and otherworldly glamour, NYX Cosmetics The Parallel Worlds Box is ideal for those last minute date nights or school functions where you need to up the mystery and allure! And when don’t we need to do that?

BF Asks: What is your go-to date night beauty routine?

I’m “dawning”… NYX Jet Black Eyeliner

NYX Slide On Pencil in Jet Black ($8.00)

I have been a big fan of NYX Cosmetics for a while now. So it’s a shame that I haven’t written about my love more. So bring on the lovefest!

How do I love thee, NYX Jet Black Eyeliner? Let me count the ways.
1) The price is right. With cosmetics well under $10, these pretty products give you the most bang for your buck. 2) This liner, in particular, is a rock star while making me look like a rockstar! 3) In a short time, it’s become a makeup bag essential!

How do I line with my love? I love lining my inner rim with it and tightlining with it under my upper lash line for extra definition without the drama. It lasts and lasts for hours without smudging and – yet – will smudge for a smoky eye if that’s what you desire – read: more drama!

My NYX Slide On Pencil lasted even the jumpiest of bouncies with my friends' kiddos!

It’s definitely become a must-have in my makeup bag and, as I’m in Dallas this week, I find it on my dressing table, bathroom counter, in my purse – you name it! It’s an eye essential for a well-defined eye at a fraction of the price of most high-quality liners. Getcha’ some!

On the plane to Dallas - one thing I didn't forget to pack? My NYX Slide On Pencil in Jet Black!
