When I came back from Nashville a few weeks ago, there was no time to rest. I had to go to Rocco DeLuca’s super-cool show downtown that Friday and I needed to look cool….FAST. So I grabbed a Votre Vu Palette Play in Copper ($42) that I had been eyeing for a while in my beauty closet.

I’d never tried Votre Vu shadows before – but looooove their other products – and I was a little nervous as to how the pigment would go on. Well, y’all the pigment is pretty. Divine. Rich. Majestic. And I am in love. So if you’ve seen me out and about the past few weeks, you’ve probably seen this pretty, pretty palette on my eyes.

The perfect blend of warm and cool colors (Linen, Gilt, Copper Suede and Indigo) played together so well and were sooooo sexy that I must admit I felt a bit like Joan Collins on Dynasty. People noticed and actually asked me what the shadow was so I knew it was a keeper!

It might look a little 80s-drama-queen here but it looked sophisticated & seductive in person & in pics

They wore on all night long with no creasing or smudging. And, again, it just makes me feel a bit better that Votre Vu products are cruelty-free, free of talc, fragrance and low-cost minerals.

Next, I touched up my nude lipstick and added a bit more of the bronzer on the cheekbones and I was out the door in 5 minutes flat!

I have been a big fan of NYX Cosmetics for a while now. So it’s a shame that I haven’t written about my love more. So bring on the lovefest!

How do I love thee, NYX Jet Black Eyeliner? Let me count the ways.
1) The price is right. With cosmetics well under $10, these pretty products give you the most bang for your buck. 2) This liner, in particular, is a rock star while making me look like a rockstar! 3) In a short time, it’s become a makeup bag essential!

 

How do I line with my love? I love lining my inner rim with it and tightlining with it under my upper lash line for extra definition without the drama. It lasts and lasts for hours without smudging and – yet – will smudge for a smoky eye if that’s what you desire – read: more drama!

My NYX Slide On Pencil lasted even the jumpiest of bouncies with my friends' kiddos!

For a pool party last weekend at my friend Moe’s house, I wanted a lipcolor to match my poolside ensemble – but not too pink, not too red, not too coral. I knew there was only one shade I could “dawn”:

A whimsical watermelony coral, it matched my new swimsuit and matching burlap bows perfectly!

It’s a great compromise between the bright hues of summer and the delicate pastels of spring.

I love these glossy lip pencils because they feel more like a lip balm going on than a lipcolor or gloss. And its lip balmy qualities – thanks to shea butter, vitamin E, sunflower seed oil and avocado and mango butters – leave my lips soft, soothed and moisturized! Right now, I can’t get enough of rich pigment on my eyes. Paired with a nude, glossy lip, smoky eyes are smoldering.

Everyone will have a favorite shade but I’m partial to Crystalline – a silky matte, desert teal. I love pressing it into my crease giving me delicate definition, on my upper lid and smudged on the bottom lashline for a perfect smoky eye.
