Mani Monday: Gilded Macaron by Enamel Diction

It’s just another Mani Monday…or is it?
Nope, it looks like a Macaron Monday to me!

Mani Monday: Gilded Macaron by Enamel Diction

This week, Enamel Diction brought the sweetness as they crafted a confection of a mani, that made the macaroons at Bottega Louie I picked up the next day jealous.

Head on over to Enamel Diction for your own gel mani with nail art (one like this runs around $55).

BF Asks: What sweet mani are you sporting this week?

Mani Monday: BEST. BIRTHDAY. MANI. EVER.

To celebrate my birthday with a mani from my favorite nail joint, Enamel Diction,  I had a checklist:

Pink.

Gold.

Cupcakes.

Well, check, check and check.

I present to you, Mani Monday: BEST. BIRTHDAY. MANI. EVER.

Mani Monday: BEST. BIRTHDAY. MANI. EVER.

And, let’s not forget the matching pink and glittering gold ombré pedi.

No, I'm not bringing back Flashdance style. I was at pilates at Whole Body Method, thank you very much.

Thanks so much, Enamel Diction!! Y’all spoil me.

BF

BF Asks: What would your “best birthday mani ever” checklist look like?

Mani Monday: The Newly Refined French Mani

I love me some nail art. It’s always fun, whimsical and unexpected.

But when it came time to decide what nail design Enamel Diction would adorn me with for my annual fall trip home to Dallas, I was a little reticent.

I wanted to keep it simple and classic (so Mom would approve), showcase the natural length of my once-bitten nails (that have plagued my mom for over 30 years) and add a little LA flair (because, well – hey! – that’s me).

This is what we – @DaniJean_W and @Mairanisnails and I – at Enamel Diction came up with. I call it The Newly Refined French Mani.

Upside Down. Boy, ya turn me. Mani Monday: The Newly Refined French Mani by @DaniJean_W & @MairanisNails of Enamel Diction (Jewelry 'tails: on the right hand, A.V. Max NYC ring and bracelets & Marcia Moran rings and bracelets on the left)

I wanted a classic french manicure with a twist. So a gold diamond-centered stud on the ring finger and a chevron-defined french mani with a band of gold seemed like the perfect compromise.

Turn it up. Mani Monday: The Newly Refined French Mani, ℅ Enamel Diction (Jewelry 'tails: on the left hand, A.V. Max NYC ring and bracelets & Marcia Moran rings and bracelets on the right)

Now, what will the Enamel Diction girls and I come up with next?

BF Asks: What mani should I get for the spoooooookiest day of the year?

Mani Monday: Burlesque Bling

When I host an event, everything matches.

Everything.

Even my mani by Zenii LA .

Mani Monday: Burlesque Bling by Zenii LA - a matchy-matchy manicure to match this Gabriel Cosmetics invitation

I call this one “Burlesque Bling” – a perfect fit for the upcoming Gabriel Cosmetics Burlesque launch party I’m hosting at the SLS Beverly Hills this Thursday.

I modeled it after the invitation. Yep. Matchy-matchy.

BF

BF Asks: Are you matchy-matchy?

Mani Monday: Blinged Lemon

Summer’s still here, folks. And that’s exactly what THIS mani says.

Mani Monday: Blinged Lemon

I call this look – “BLINGED LEMON” – visualized by me and designed by @fefethecreator at Zenii Skin and Nails on Melrose. She’s the queen of nail art!

So what is a “Blinged Lemon”?

Well, it’s a pale, PALE shade of pink with a french sliver of a tip of muted lemon and a cluster of swarovski crystals on the ring finger of each hand.

A slice of summer with a tinge of bling. Subtle and sweet with a bit of sass.

Thanks, Zenii!!

BF Asks: What mani are you rocking right now?

Mani Monday: Ganesha Ganache with Zenii

Last week, I had the pleasure of popping by Pop Your Shop hosted by Eventbrite LA and my dear friend, Harmonie Krieger.

With art, Veev cocktails, cupcakes, a braid bar by Assembly Salon and much more, this was one heck of an evening!
But the biggest treat of all? Super luxe and lovely nail art and manis by Zenii Skin & Nails.

Mani Monday: Ganesha Ganache by Zenii Nails

I already had a pink and white design but they freshened it up and added a little fancy flair on the ring finger that totally reminded me of Ganesha…hence the name, Ganesha Ganache!

I hope this slice of sweetness can inspire your mani this week!

Mani Monday: The Perfect Palm Springs Mani

Mani Monday: The Perfect Palm Springs Mani

Listen, I have to tell you something up front. The mani you see pictured here was directly inspired by my good friend, Kirbie Johnson of PopSugar’s Olive And June mani for Coachella.
Yep, I ripped her off. I plagarized her nails.

But, I mean, COME ON!!!
How could I not when I was invited to one of my favorite fellow blogger Kelly GoLightly’s Flamingo Fiesta with L*Space Swimwear? So I headed to Pampered Hands on Melrose and prettied up my paws.

Prettying up my paws at Pampered Hands with a palm tree! How fabulously festive!

I opted for a little personalization with a punchy peach Essie polish and gold french mani with a palm tree on the right ring finger and a flamingo on the left. I was especially excited about the flamingo art because our hostess-with-the-mostest, Kelly, loves her flamingos.

Look! My polish matches the stitching on my L*Space swimmie cover-up!

So while I’m not a super craftsy girl when it comes to my nails – and I sadly can’t exactly tell you how to do this mani – I urge you to take these pics to a nail salon (or talented friend) who is known for their nail art.

After my mani, I felt 100% Palm Springs-prepared.

Whatcha’ Wearin’ Wednesday? Nami’s Nails – Taking The Bronze AND Silver

WWW: Nami's Nails

WWW: Nami's Nails

So, it’s a funny thing having a blog.

It’s a growing process, an adventure, lots of fun — and the best creative outlet in the world  for someone with as many interests as me!

One of my favorite things, since childhood, has always been coming up with names for products I love, recipes I create, Barbie dolls- heck – even nicknames for friends and pets.

So it’s pretty fun when I come up with a new idea for, you, my lovely BeautyFrosting readers.

From now on, when I try out a nail polish recipe, I’m gonna name it so we’ll have a reference point.

The first one I’m naming happens to be for my super-stylish friend, Nami’s nails. Remember her? She’s a frequent guest on WWW (Whatcha’ Wearin’ Wednesday)!

She came in a week ago with the most glittery, bronzed – and yet – sophisticated nails.

Nami makes any trend look like an instant classic.
This one was no different.

Since we all have Olympic fever, it only feels appropriate to call this Nami’s Nails-inspired Mani Recipe:
“Taking The Bronze AND Silver”

So just how did she achieve this sparkling look?

2 coats of Essie Ballet Slippers ($5) on the entire nail

Essie Ballet Slippers

+

2 coats of OPI Warm & Fozzie C08 ($6) on the tips

OPI Warm & Fozzie Nail Polish

+

1 coat of Essie Set in Stones (Luxeffects silver glitter nail polish)

“Taking The Bronze AND Silver”

And she added a little mint heart on the pinkie nail…but I’m gonna let that be her little secret!

BF Asks: What would you name this Mani Recipe if you had your druthers? Let your imagination fly and let me know below!

Whatcha’ Wearin’ Wednesday: BeautyFrosting-themed nails

After being inspired by our WWW girl, Nami’s, nails last week, I decided to try a nail design perfectly painted for me.

So what could be better than BeautyFrosting-themed nails?

I took in my card to the salon and asked them to use it for inspiration.

BeautyFrosting-themed nails!

BeautyFrosting-themed nails!

Super fun!

I’m usually pretty classic when it comes to my nail color but THIS WAS FUUUUUN!!

The nail salon applied OPI in Go on Green and then dotted the polish with a french white standard polish.

A BF mani

I loved the result!
And, as an Essie Ballet Slippers & Splash of Grenadine devotee,I think this experience just may have opened me up to more fun nail design in the future.

I mean, why not?

BF Asks: What nail design are you dying to try this summer? Glitter? Lace? Sprinkles? Caviar? Spill it, sister!
