GBK 2013 Annual Pre-Oscars Luxury Lounge at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills

This past Saturday, I had the distinct  - and delicious – pleasure of attending the GBK 2013 Annual Pre-Oscars Luxury Lounge at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Besides being introduced to some amazing new-to-me products and walking away with a glam gift bag filled with products we couldn’t wait to try here at BeautyFrosting, I got to meet some of my favorite all-time male celebs!

It was such a treat and SO much fun!

And there was a SLEW of celebs! Just a few included: Penny Marshall, Chris Tucker, Steven Weber, Joey Lawrence, Camilla Luddington, Ashley Williams, Evan Handler, Chazz Palminteri and Tempest Bledsoe. Not to mention Jesse Williams and Richard Kind! Stayed tuned for those photos! I’m a little partial to ‘em!

First, I walked the red carpet.

Then I ran into the legendary Sugar Ray Leonard! He was there to support The Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation – whose mission it is to raise funds for research and awareness towards a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.

Me with Sugar Ray Leonard! I was so excited! This pic is obviously by me & my iPhone

Just after that, I was tempted with the luscious libations of Viva Diva Wines, one of the fastest growing Moscato brands in the United States.

Luckily, by this point, my amazing photographer Amy Opoka had arrived! So before the “work” really started, she got a quick touch-up by the fabulous Robby of NVEY ECO. His catchphrase that I love? “Don’t panic! It’s organic!” Love that guy!

Robby touching up our amazing photographer, Amy Opoka, with NVEY ECO products!

And then we saw the super handsome and charming Jesse Williams, of Grey’s Anatomy, and his sweet & lovely wife, Aryn! Of course, we had to snap a pic with our fave Doc from Seattle Grace Mercy West.

Next it was time for a little chocolate. Thank the goodie gods for a mini sampling of Zoe’s Chocolate Company!

And as if chocolate wasn’t enough? Next, Cookie Daddy tempted us with their delicious gourmet cookies!

One of my favorite new-to-me lines was The Artisan Group – an elite, beautiful band of talented and innovative artists. I had the pleasure of receiving some gorgeous jewelry, hair accessories, photos and bath goodies that I simply cannot wait to try! And it’s the ultimate example of supporting small business & vendors!

I loved chatting with the ladies from Viavo! So sweet and such great-smelling avocado oil enriched bath & body products that I can’t wait to try!

I enjoyed talking with Dr.Ted Eisenberg about his new book, “The Scoop on Breasts: A Plastic Surgeon Busts of Myths”.

I stopped by EcoGenics Active Botanical Skincare and got the scoop on this paraben free skincare system.

Next? A little social lubrication was in order so I sipped a Skinny Girl cocktail. I left with a few of their Skinny Girl wines to try! Skinny and wine? Two of my favorite things.

And as we left, I ran smack-dab into the talented and hilarious Richard Kind who could not have been more gracious.

Whatcha’ Wearin’ Wednesday, Julie Bowen?

Time and time again, on the red carpet, Julie Bowen shows us how fabulous 40 can look! 43 to be exact! And if this is any indication of how a woman can look in her 40s, I can’t wait!

Complimenting Julie’s sexy yet structured and sophisticated black leather dress, makeup artist Heather Currie opted for a smoky black cat eye and a soft pinky creamy matte nude lip.

Here are Heather’s steps to get this sultry and sophisticated look!

Face

  • Currie kept Julie’s skin looking dewy and fresh by applying Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color in Powder Pink on the apples of her cheeks.

Eyes

  • Currie used Avon Irresistibly Sexy Eyeshadow Palette in Bombshell to bring depth and smokiness to Julie’s eyes and added a little shimmer to pick up the glimmer of the jewels on Julie’s dress.
  • The inner rims of Julie’s eyes were lined with Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Cosmic Brown, and the tops of her eyelids with Avon Ultra Luxury Eyeliner in Black. She then smudged the black liner into Julie’s eyeshadow to create a subtle cat eye and finished the look with a few coats of Avon SuperExtend Extreme Mascara in Black.

Lip

  • In order to create a romantic lip that would complete Julie’s look, Currie swiped two coats of Avon’s NEW Totally Kissable lipstick in Lovey Dovey on Julie’s lips. No gloss was used in order to keep the lip color soft and rich at the same time.

Fancy Friday: Barbie Rocks Launch Party

Ready for a slice of glam?

On December 16th, I had the prime pleasure of attending Any Sarre and Layna & Alan Friedman’s Barbie™ Rocks 6th Annual “Pinktastic” Party in Beverly Hills.

Along with my friend, RedCarpetRoxy and over 150 guests, we were treated to a pinkalicious shopping treat!

It started with pictures on the PINK (!!) carpet!

Hostess-with-the-Mostest, Anya Sarre and BF

Once inside, the little girl in me was delighted as I saw, in the center of the room, a towering4-foot-Barbie work-of-art cake by A Wish and a Whisk! I was plumb giddy!

Then to my left and right were cake stands filled with deliciously cute cupcakes by Lindsey Sinatra’s A Wish and a Whisk!

Behind me was sinfully (and yet sin-free, somehow) scrumptious eats by Root of All Food. The beet and goat cheese lollipops were my fave, of course! Just look at them! How great for a kids party, bridal shower or baby shower!

Then I had pink streaks applied to my mane which left me feeling verrrry Barbie & The Rockers. They showed up much more vibrantly on Roxy’s golden hair.

Celebrity guests at this invite-only-event included “The Insider” host Brooke Anderson, Diamond White from “X Factor”, Chudney Ross and many others!

We also loved taking fun, frilly, feathery, fuchsia-infused photos at Rony’s Photo Booth! And many girls, of all ages, were thrilled to get their makeup applied by Ferro Cosmetics.

The hot holiday gifts of the day were the Barbie™ sapphire silhouette in Rose Gold and Black Diamond Necklaces.

And then there were the Mud Pie gift bags filled with cotton candy, Sheila G’s Brownie Brittle, a delicious top by District and many, many more!

Sunday Social Hour: GBK Gift Lounge In Honor of the 2012 American Music Awards

Back on November 17th, I had the super fun experience of attending the GBK AMA gift suite at the Andaz West Hollywood. Celebrities like Sheila E., Aubrey O’Day, Brian Littrell & Howie Dorough of The Backstreet Boys, Max Charles and Shaunie O’Neal attended this fun fete!

Besides the celebrities, the music pumping and the delicious eats and treats, I had the pleasure of meeting a slew of new-to-me brands and products.

These were a few of my favorite moments and experiences! Enjoy!

First off, there were the grooves being spun by DJ Baby Chino. On top of being ridiculously cute and chill, the tunes were amazing! I mean, this was a gift lounge to celebrate the AMAs, after all!

Next, I found my next new boots. I’m in love. Just look at them! They’re made by SYC FUK and, while I was embarrassed telling my mom the name of the brand, I would never be embarrassed to rock these little beauties!

The newest item on my wish list...boots by SYC FUK

Next up, I fell in love with keychains and coffee cups on-the-go from Michelle Roy. Loooove her logo!! Such a work of art!

I rocked my turquoise skull & sparkly gold leather keychain like I was the coolest rocker in town. Again, LOVED! And the coolness of this keychain made me feel just the teensiest bit cooler, myself!

Next up to love was Revitalash! I have known of this line for years and friends have told me how much they have loved. I can’t wait to share with you my feelings about these promising products!

Thanks GBK for the invite to this party full of life-changing products!

Can’t wait to experience them and see what’s at the next soiree!

Red Carpet Alert: The Fashionable Femmes of the Golden Globes

I love award season. Oh, how I love it!

And the Golden Globes are always the perfect way to kickstart the season as they are the MOST fun!

Here are the trends I spotted on the red carpet this evening. Do you agree?

Who was your favorite?

Starlets in Ravishing Red:

Winners Jennifer Lawrence & Claire Danes as well as nominees, Zooey Deschanel & Marion Cotillard, rocked the red carpet in these scarlet stunners.

Beauties in Black

Golden Globe Winner, Julianne Moore and nominees Julianna Margulies, Sofia Vergara, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Nicole Kidman, presenters Kate Hudson, Salma Hayek and GIRLS stars Allison Williams and Zosia Mamet  brought black to life in these gorgeous black beauties.

Stunning in Silver

These silver screens sirens stunned in gowns of silver: nominee for Nashville Connie Britton, Thandie Newton, Isla Fisher and Carla Gugino.

Nice in Neutrals

Megan Fox, Kerry Washington, Helen Hunt and Amanda Seyfried played it nice (and a little naughty) in shimmering, skin-skimming neutrals.

Pretty in Powder Blues

Winner, Jessica Chastain, Nicole Richie and Rosario Dawson played it pretty in powdery blue hues.

Perfect in Plum

Multiple winner Lena Dunham and nominee, Taylor Swift, donned shades of plum perfectly.

Noble in Navy

Some of the best actresses of our time, including the Cecil B. Demille Award recipient Jodie Foster and nominees Glenn Close and Sally Field, were noble in navy gowns.

The Rest of the Rainbow

Other actresses such as Lucy Liu, Jessica Alba, Halle Berry and Olivia Munn represented the rest of the rainbow.

Here’s, and cheers, to many more gorgeous gowns this award season!

Tress Tuesday: the fabulous Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine at LACMA

I am loving this look that the fabulous Florence Welch (of Florence + the Machine) rocked on the stage and the red carpet at the LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala!

It’s sophisticated yet whimsical and sweet and reminds me of a modern day princess!

The fabulous Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine

Donned in a cobalt blue Gucci gown with plunging neckline, Florence and her hair stylist Nikki Providence opted for a look with a boho-chic vibe.

Just in time for all of this month’s holiday fetes, you can learn how to rock this nostalgic & whimsical ‘do, yourself.

Here is celeb stylist, Nikki’s, step-by-step guide to achieving this look!

1) Begin with clean, damp hair.

2) Spray the Davines Defining Texturizer at the roots and the MELU Shield on the length of the hair. The Texturizer provides hold and volume, while the MELU Shield protects the hair from damage caused by styling tools.

3) Blow dry the hair using a round brush.

4) Apply a couple of pups of the Davines OI/OIL on the ends of the hair. This will condition the hair and protect it while in braids and add shine without heavy greasiness. Plus, it leaves the hair smelling incredible!

5) Divide the hair into two sections and braid each side, beginning just above the ear.

6) Wrap each braid across the top of the head and secure with pins.

For added glam, you can incorporate a couple of necklaces and pin them into the hair, as Florence did.

BF
