Daily Delights: What’s Delighting Me Right Now, 9/16/13

So what are daily delights? Daily delights are the little things that make life worth living. Things that inspire. Encourage. Make Me Smile. Make Me Laugh. Make Things Rosier.

The happy little things, people, events, products, places and pieces of art that make the world a happier place to live in.

Are these things mind-blowing? Earth-shattering? Life-changing. Not usually. But they’re things that make me smile and, thus, make me want to share with you.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed them.

(These are usually pictures I post on Instagram of things that I’m loving at that exact moment. So if you want to get my daily delights on a daily, moment-by-moment basis, follow me on Instagram at @beautyfrosting)

***

1) What a sweet way to start the day! The most precious thank you note from my BeautyFrosting reader, Kate. This never gets old. I am so thankful for every single one of you!

2) Loved getting to have a ladies lunch at the Sunset Marquis with fellow blogger, Cassie Kelley of one of my fave blogs, Womanista who was in town from Nashville. In addition to being a talented blogger, sweet friend, southern lady and trendsetter, Cassie is also the wife of Lady Antebellum member, Charles Kelley so it’s super fun to keep up with all of her style, travel and favorite finds! Such a gorgeous and gracious southern lady!

3) I got to have s’mores TWICE in two weeks. What a perfect sendoff to summer! First with a friend at Sushi Roku

and then at KitchenSurfing LA‘s launch event in Venice.

Both were utterly delicious and divine, I tell you.

4) A kiss sandwich between my two favorite girls, my neighbor-nieces, Nora and Lucy. Covered in kisses? Not a bad Friday.

5) Every Friday, I spend my day writing, drinking, eating and enjoying my favorite neighborhood haunt, Paper Or Plastik. This past Friday, I stayed past dark and it took on a whole other romantic mood – it really is a little piece of Paris right in my neighborhood.

6) This pic about sums up the delicious and delightful evening spent with some of my favorite ladies in Los Angeles last Thursday at the Nalukai Fall Dinner at The London WeHo. More on that magical evening & Nalukai’s new jewelry soon!

BF Asks: What were your “Daily Delights” this week?

Thirsty Thursday: Pampadour Summer Sangria

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending the “Be Parisian For A Day Event” hosted by Fournier PR. While eating macarons (yes, I’m serious)…

Macaron heaven at Be Parisian For A Day

and getting to know all of the new beauty products I’m destined to be in love with –

Being, well, Parisian...or at least trying to be...

 I spotted this:
PAMPADOUR. SUMMER. SANGRIA.

Pampadour Summer Sangria

So what is this sangria-making “Pampadour“, you ask? Well, I asked the same thing…and then I promptly signed up and became obsessed. It’s a social platform for beauty. Need more details? Here you go:  If Facebook married Pinterest and it was a marriage based solely on a love of beauty then you would have Pampadour. And luckily we do. By the way, that sounds divine, doesn’t it?
I’ve played a bit on Pampadour and let me tell ya – it is ADDICTIVE!!
But back to their sangria. It was delish and they were nice enough to send me the recipe.
It’s a refreshing warm weather beverage that’s just dying to be enjoyed with friends!

Summer happiness - also called Pampadour Summer Sangria - in a cup

Pampadour Summer Sangria:
1 bottle White Wine ( Pino Blanc or New Zealand Sauvignon – I personally prefer the $3.99 Espiral Vinho Verde from Trader Joe’s!)
1/2 c Brandy
4 c Club Soda
Sliced Plums, lemons, limes, strawberries, apples, tangerines
Serve chilled on Ice.

Whatcha’ Wearin’ Wednesday: Lovely Lauren C.

Love it when I make a green beauty discovery!
Especially since I’m a little green when it comes to green beauty.

When I attended Fournier PR’s “Be Parisian For A Day” event at the Sunset Marquis Villas back in June, I had no idea how much French fun I was in for!
I was turned on to soooooo many new products and fell in love with so many of them!

Love it when that happens!

One of the lines new to me was Emani.

And the face of Emani was Lauren.

And what a face it was!

Whatcha' Wearin' Wednesday, Lauren?

Our WWW Girl: Lauren

I loved the polished look of her eye makeup so you know I had to ask:

BF: Lauren, Whatcha’ Wearin’?

Lauren: Emani!!

BF: Would you mind if I feature you as my WWW girl and take a few pics?

Lauren: Go right ahead! But I put it on at 7 am this morning – do I need to retouch?

BF: 7 am!!?? You have got to be kidding. You look beautiful! You don’t need to retouch a thing!

Lauren: No. Seriously. That’s the thing about Emani – it’s amazing. Have you tried it?

BF: No, but I will now. Your makeup looks like you JUST put it on! Please tell me everything you’re wearing so I can get to know this seemingly magical mineral makeup!

Lauren: I can do better than that! I’ll take a pic of my makeup routine and email you the details. Will that work?
BF: Will that work?! Are you kiddin’?! Bless you, darlin’.

I can’t wait to try Emani myself if I can look like her!

As for Emani, this is what I know:

*A professional makeup line that promotes a pretty, healthy complexion. Gotta love that!

*Vegan friendly product – free of the not-so-pretty stuff like Talc, Gluten and Parabens.

*No harsh chemicals, petrochemicals or synthetic fragrances

*Organic,natural pigments

*Lasting mineral makeup that looks polished NOT heavy-handed like some mineral makeup lines

*PETA Certified

*Sustainable, Recycled & Biodegrable Packaging

*Made in the USA

Well, I love ALL of that goodness! And I have a feeling a lot of you will too.

Love it when I make a green beauty discovery!

And, as promised, here is Lauren C’s beauty routine.

Here’s the email from our WWW girl today, the lovely Lauren:
