In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Christine Shampoo & Conditioner by Van Thomas Concepts

Listen, it’s hard to find the right shower buddy.

As a girl who gets regular keratin treatments, it’s sometimes hard to find a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner that deep cleanses and conditions without stripping.

Well, I met a girl who gets the job done. Her name is Christine and she is glorious. Not just glorious though, she actually produces gooooorgeous results.

The blonde isn't Christine. It's Kirbie of PopSugar. Look at that shine on my dark hair!! Thanks, Christine!

The Christine Shampoo ($18) uses magical (well, I think it’s magical) micro-lather technology to deep cleanse – all the way from scalp to ends! Hair feels squeaky clean without feeling stripped which is exactly how I like it!

And the Christine Reconstructive Conditioner replenishes nutrients, oils and protein vital to healthy, heavenly hair without weighing it down.

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Meet my new shower buddy, Christine!

Sulfate-and-paraben-free, it’s perfect for any cut, color or texture.

Yep, that is the truth about Christine. I’m utterly smitten. So smitten that she’s become someone I shower with quite regularly.

BF Asks: Who are you showering with these days?

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Boscia NEW Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-Gel

Fact about me you didn’t know? I get realllllly excited about a good cleanser! Especially good oil cleansers that deeply cleanse without stripping the skin of vital oils and moisture. Add in some anti aging, antioxidant-rich ingredients and I’m in hog heaven. Well, bath heaven, but I digress.

That’s why Boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-Gel ($28)  just tickles me pink. (See, because it ALSO comes in a pink bottle – wink, wink).

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Boscia NEW Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-Gel ($28)

This antioxidant-packed cleansing oil-gel removes those pesky impurities and makeup remnants while protecting the skin’s moisture barrier. And the best part? We’re left with smoother, softer, baby-soft skin.

Ideal for all skin types, the tsubaki (camellia oil) botanical blend firms, hydrates and protects against free radical damage and increases collagen while the Wakame (Japanese Sea Kelp) prevents fine lines, wrinkles and loss of firmness by replenishing protein. That Wakame is good stuff as it also helps to even out melanin thus improving skin tone. And we can’t forget the Rice Bran Oil! Used in Asia for centuries, this antioxidant-rich oil helps to prevent premature aging by providing essential nutrients. Um, yes please!

And application is piece of (pink, of course) cake! Just apply 1 – 2 pumps to damp skin and massage gently in a circular motion. Rinse clean with warm water. And you’re done.

So get a little passionate about your cleanser like me and put a little pink into your life!

BF Asks: What cleanser are you passionate about at the moment?

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Jaqua Pink Buttercream Frosting Shower Crème

What else would you expect for In-My-Tub-Tuesday the week of my birthday but something delicious, sweet and frosting-themed?

Here’s the thing. My favorite food on THE PLANET is birthday cake. I have loved it with abandon since I was a tiny tot while my waistline has, at times, not loved it as much as I have. But when your blog is called BeautyFrosting, listen, there’s no shortage of frosting around.

Lucky for me, my favorite taste/scent and color are all packaged together prettily in my In-My-Tub-Tuesday pick today: Jaqua Pink Buttercream Frosting Shower Creme ($18).

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Jaqua Buttercream Shower Creme

This week, to celebrate my birthday all week long (as I’m prone to do), I’ll light some candles, add in some buttercream bubbles to my bath, pour a glass of bubbly and reflect on the year behind me and dream of the year to come.

Light the candles, pour in the bubbles and pour a glass of bubbly for my birthday week!

So, Jaqua, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

1) Let’s start with the scent, itself. Bathe or shower yourself in the rich, creamy, buttery vanilla bean scent with a hint of banana and warm florals and go to sleep smelling like cupcakes and dreaming of sugarplums.

2) Lavish your skin with super-skin-quenching moisture. With nourishing ingredients, such as Fruit & Aloe extracts, macadamia, evening primrose oils and vitamins B5, A & E, you’ll always step out of your bathing experience with skin that feels as delicious as it smells.

3) Um, put simply, Jaqua just has the cutest packaging around. Girls of EVERY age love the chocolate damask print and it coordinates so well with the pink of the gel. And, let’s be honest – we’re girls! We like pretty things. There, I said it.

So, now you know what I’ll be bathing in all week long while celebrating my birthday…

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Sensai by Kanebo Intensive Hair Mask

If it were up to me, we would all have a spa day for ourselves once a week. Just a reminder that we need to take time to pamper and nurture ourselves as much as possible. While we can’t all afford to hit an actual spa once a week, there is a world of tantalizing treatments out there that can enable us to do just that.

That’s why In-My-Tub-Tuesday is proud to feature one of my favorite hair masks – Sensai by Kanebo Intensive Hair Mask ($57).

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Sensai by Kanebo Intensive Hair Mask ($57)

This nourishing mask features ten ancient oriental herbal extracts to repair hair – leaving it smooth, shiny and sexy. And while many masks weigh hair down with their conditioning agents, this one does the contrar – shine for miles and volume to spare!
Ideal for severely damaged hair, it can be used once or twice weekly following a shampooing.

Rocking my newly hydrated and pampered 'do at Santa Anita Racetrack - thanks to Sensai by Kanebo Intensive Hair Mask

Another beautiful bonus? The fact that it will make you smell super sultry with its fresh, floral scent!

In just one self-hosted spa day a week, you’ll feel utterly pampered with this miraculous mask!

BF Asks: How do you pamper yourself?

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo

There are certain scents that just feel like a vacation. The kind of scent that carries you far, far away from the stressful day you’re having – even if just for a moment. I live for these products.

My In-My-Tub-Tuesday pick today, Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo ($13.50), is one of these said products.

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo ($13.50)

Far from just a pretty scent, this super-cleaning shampoo adds body to my fine hair while deep cleaning my hair from root to tip. You may have noticed that I mentioned the word “cleaning” TWICE in that last sentence. That’s because this shampoo really gets the job done – and all without stripping the hair of the oils we need – and want – for shine and smoothness.

The peppermint scent awakens your senses (helllloooo morning!), the rosemary helps protect against harmful environmental influences and the pure plant aroma energizes you and gets you ready for whatever you’ve got goin’ on next.

But, again, it’s that soothing-yet-invigorating scent and subtle tingling sensation it treats my scalp to that has kept me coming back for years. It’s minty fresh!

BF Asks: What product’s scent do you crave?

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Pur-lisse Pur-Delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser & Makeup Remover

I am a big fan of the VIP box from FabFitFun that I receive seasonally on my doorstep…but more on that later.

For now, I want to introduce you to what’s in my tub this Tuesday:

Pur-lisse Pur-Delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser ($36)

The reason I mentioned the FabFitFun VIP box is because I received this scrumptious cleanser for sensitive skin in my summertime FabFitFun VIP box!

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Pur-lisse Pur-Delicate Gently Soy Milk Cleanser & Makeup Remover

I mean, listen, as sensitive as I might be as a person, my skin is even more sensitive. That’s why many times so-called “sensitive” cleansers let me down.
But not this one. No way.

With its blue lotus, white tea, soy proteins, sea silk and lupine peptides, my skin is gently cleansed by its milk gel formula. It washes away dirt, makeup and the effects of the day and leaves my skin clean without feeling stripped or irritated. Plus, it feels like it’s actually soothing my skin which is just what us sensitive girls need at the end of a long day or first thing in the morning.

Honestly, I was surprised by how much I loved this cleanser as my skin felt soft, supple and silky…and, dare I say, SEXY!!!

BF Asks: Do you have sensitive skin? If so, what’s your sensitive skin cleanser of choice?

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Bath & Body Works Pure Paradise Collection

With Flossie about to hit Hawaii and summer’s end in sight, I’m wanting any indication possible that summer can last just a little bit longer.

So what bathtime delights am I turning to in this tropical storm time?
Why, the Pure Paradise Bath & Body Works collection, of course!

Bath & Body Works Pure Paradise Collection ($11 -$16.50) - Pictured here: Pure Paradise Body Lotion ($11), Pure Paradise Shower Gel ($11), and Pure Paradise Fragrance Mist ($14)

Last night, I took a long, hot bath soaking in the Pure Paradise shower gel ($11). It foamed up a bit and made my bathroom smell like a tropical vacation meets my old days at camp. I closed my eyes and was able to smell both the memories of my yesterday and the future memories of my tomorrow.

What do I mean by that? Simple. It reminds me of a tropical vacation due to its summer seduction quality that it seems to have all bottled up while reminding me of my times at summer camp – filled with innocence, first love and the warm night breeze.

Of course, that might all be from the sumptuous star fruit, juicy guava or dewy cassis. Or it could be from the luscious gardenia, frangipani or water lily. But the white musk, blond woods and sunkissed coconut certainly don’t harsh my tropical bathtime buzz!

And when it came time to hydrate, I wanted the scent – and nostalgic feeling – to continue. So to town I went with the Pure Paradise Fragrance Mist ($14) and Pure Paradise Body Lotion ($11).

I went to sleep in a seductive slumber dreaming of my old pre-teen boyfriends from camp and my future boyfriends on the beach.
Now, that’s what I call a good evening, ladies!

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Exfolimate Face and Body Exfoliation

Last week, I tried something unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. And I must say I am intrigued which is why I MUST share it with you on In-My-Tub-Tuesday, today!

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Exfolimate Face and Body Exfoliation ($39.95)

So what is this intriguing beauty product sitting in my bathtub? A revolution in exfoliation called Exfolimate.

Exfolimate is a hand-held exfoliation tool, with innovative micro grooves and a smooth edge technology that glides along your skin to gently and precisely exfoliate. Think of it as a skin squeegee. Yes, really!
You use Exfolimate in the tub or shower (or at the sink, I suppose) when your skin is damp and your skin the most supple. So how does it work? Well, here’s where it’s gonna sound, um, weird. There is almost a blade-like, dull edge that does its job to eradicate excess oil, dirt and dead skin from your face and body. Each Exfolimate comes with one tool for the face and one larger tool for the body so you’re covered there.

It’s so easy to use, you’re gonna wonder if you’re using it correctly. You are. It’s super simple.
So my results? I didn’t see any evident dirt or oil come off my face but keep in mind that I have been religious with my skin-cleaning routine since I was 11 and I am super dry. But when I used the Body Exfolimate on my upper back, well, let’s just say I saw some instant results! My skin was left feeling deeply cleansed.

A perfect alternative to grainy scrubs that can oftentimes cause irritation, Exfolimate works to clean pores, tone and exfoliate all in one step. And it leaves you with a natural, glowing radiance with not a bit of ruddiness in sight! Plus, my skin felt smoother after each use.

Some other good ways to use Exfolimate? When getting ready for a spray tan, for a pedicure and for smoother shaving and waxing.

It’s worth a try! And I think those of you on the more oily side will definitely see immediate results!!

BF Asks: Will you give Exfolimate a try?

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Neutrogena Rainbath Refreshing Shower & Bath Gel

Good morning -er – afternoon, I mean!

Sorry for the late post today, guys!

I have been lacking energy all day long.

After taking my vitamins, drinking some tea, working out and even going to get a B-12 shot, I finally decided to hop into a mid-afternoon shower and get my dependable wakeup call!

That’s why today’s In-My-Tub-Tuesday is a thank you letter to Neutrogena Rainbath Refreshing Shower & Bath Gel ($7.99 – $26.99, depending on size).
