A Month Of Miracles – Celebrating 16 years of Philosophy on QVC

When Philosophy invited me to celebrate their 16th anniversary on QVC, I was beside myself!

Getting in on the Philosophy & QVC 16th anniversary fun!

Happy 16th Philosophy & QVC!

See, I’ve been a fan of Philosophy for as long as I can remember – so much so that I feel like I grew up with Philosophy. In fact, I can mark milestones in my life, based on the Philosophy products I was using at the time.

My first introduction to the line was when I was 21 and a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, when I treated myself to one of their darling dessert-themed all-in-one bath & shower gels, Apricots & Cream, that satiated my sweet tooth without the calories, as I showered in the Kappa house. Today, I still bathe with the sweet stuff.

One staple I always have in my bath? Philosophy 3-in-1 bath & shower gels. Here's one of my all-time faves: Apricots & Cream. Not just because it smells heavenly, but also because it matches my peach bathroom!

Later, at 25, I fell in love all over again with Philosophy, when I couldn’t get enough of their Falling In Love fragrance and Falling In Love bath & shower gel, as I was falling in love, myself, with a new boyfriend.

25 & falling in love…and not just with the fragrance...

Then, at 30, as I started seeking the perfect skincare regimen for my thirtysomething skin, I fell in love once more with Philosophy, when I tried their Hope In A Jar (most famous for being Oprah’s favorite moisturizer).

Hope is all we need.

Hope is all we need.

Now, at 37, I fell in love yet again, when I attended their QVC Month of Miracles anniversary party, where the guest of honor was bestselling author, Spirit Junkie, miraclemaker, and Philosophy ambassador, Gabby Bernstein.

Grace, Gabby, and miracles galore at the #QVCMonthOfMiracles party at the Sunset Marquis.

Grace, Gabby, and miracles galore at the #QVCMonthOfMiracles party at the Sunset Marquis.

I am as big a fan of Gabby – and her latest book, May Cause Miracles – as I am of Philosophy, so the joining of the two was almost too much for this heart to take! (Editor’s note: Interview with Gabby coming sooooon). It’s a beautiful marriage because Gabby is all about miracles and Philosophy’s motto is to believe in miracles, as Philosophy is a company founded on science, as well as inspiration.

We celebrated Philosophy’s 16 years on QVC, by watching the live show on QVC, trying new products, ordering products, tweeting up a storm, nibbling delicious mediterranean fare, and listening to Gabby share her “Miracle Moments.”

Amazing grace, indeed.

Amazing grace – how sweet the sound, sight and smell.

A miraculous day that none of us will soon forget.

Gabby, me and miracles galore.

Gabby, me and miracles galore.

Not only is Gabby a Philosophy ambassador,  but she’s also on the steering committee of Philosophy’s Hope & Grace Initiative, a cause near and dear to my heart.

Hope & Grace Initiative

Hope & Grace Initiative

The Hope & Grace Initiative touches hearts to heal minds, by donating 1% of any and all net product sales to support community-based mental health efforts. 1 in 4 adults experiences mental illness in a given year, and Philosophy’s Hope & Grace Initiative provides over 100 community-based mental health organizations each year, with up to $50,000 in support. July 15th also marked the charity’s 1-year anniversary. A month of miracles, indeed!

That’s why I feel good giving Philosophy products as gifts, whether it be a Sweet Treats Discovery collection ($28.42) to a friend for her birthday, the blushing Philosophy Celebrates Miracles 5-piece collection ($69.98) to my bride buddies, or divvying up the Mega Miracles 8-piece collection ($229.86) amongst my best friends on Friendsgiving as favors.

Not only am I giving those I love a gift that they’ll love, but I also know that a portion of my money will be used to help a cause I love.

What could be more miraculous than that?

Happy, happy 16th anniversary Philosophy and QVC! To many, many more milestones together…and candles.

To many, many more candles on the cake...

Holiday Delights: My New Christmas Ornament for 2013

Once a bath girl…always a bath girl. Every year I buy myself a new ornament that delights me. The kind that fills you with glee and makes you feel like a child upon first glance.Yep, love at first sight!

This year, it was this vintage-feeling metallic blue, purple & pink with crystal foam bubble bath from Target. I adore it. It makes me smile every time I see it hanging from my silver tree here at The Cupcake Palace. I hope you enjoy as well!

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Whish Pomegranate Three Whishes Body Wash

We all know how I love my nightly bath. But know what makes it even better?
A foamy, frothy, fruity-smelling body wash that makes my body feel adored!

I got all that and more when I tried Whish Three Whishes Body Wash in Pomegranate.

No, I don't just love it because it matches my bathroom...but it doesn't hurt, either!

The wondrous Whish creators removed the typical not-so-lovely drying ingredients (such as sulfate) found in many body washes and replaced them with scrumptiously softening organic ingredients. Perfect for a sumptuous soak in the tub! Especially since I’m still reading Fifty Shades Darker (wink, wink).

The Whish formula sounds more like one of my recipes than a list of body wash ingredients which of course makes me love Whish even more!
This pomegranate formula moisturizes with organic shea butter, organize raspberry butter and organic aloe, cleanses with wheat, sugar and corn derived ingredients and soothes with organic cucumber and organic marigold. DELICIOUS!

And other good stuff from this whimsical Whish body wash? It’s cruelty free, paraben free, DEA & TEA free, petrochemical free and contains all natural & organic ingredients. Love all that!

Plus, I have to admit, the scent reminded me of showering at Southern Methodist University in Virginia Hall back during my Talented And Gifted camp days. It took me right back to Dallas, Summer 1992. Nostalgia gets me every time. The best selling point in the world to a nostalgic girl like me!

Now if only there was a genie in this Three Whishes Body Wash so I could have 3 wishes granted!!!

BF

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Mustela Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath – For Baby & Me

Who you callin’ a baby?

Who you callin' a baby? Mustela Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath ($10)

As we have covered numerous times here on BF, I loooove my nightly bath. I live for it.
So when I find a product that betters my bath, I scream it from the mountain tops.
Consider this me screaming: I am loving Mustela Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath!!!

Rich in marine extracts, its soothing scent deeply relaxes me, helps me wash away any remaining stress of the day and helps me rest more soundly. Specially formulated to clean a baby’s sensitive and delicate skin, my friends – with little ones – swear it’s the closest thing to a baby whisperer at bath time that they can find.

Plus, it’s said to stimulate the senses with its multi-sensory approach: marine smell, foaming touch and ocean blue hue. And we could all use a little sense-awakening, now couldn’t we?

I’m off to take my bath right now. Ahh, Mustela, take me away.

Go get  some Mustela Multi-Sensory Bath (only $10). Really. Like now. Go on.

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: L’Occitane Lavender Foaming Bath

Oh, how I love this Lavender Foaming Bath from L’Occitane! To be totally honest, L’Occitane has made some of my most favorite bath products over the years.

L'Occitane Lavender Foaming Bath ($32)

I rely heavily on my nighttime bath to help me unwind and wash away any stressful remnants of the day.

It is a saving-grace-ritual – aren’t those what make life so sweet? And I love that half-hour I spend soaking in the tub, every night, as I look back on the day with gratitude and prepare for a blissful night of deep sleep before another day begins.

Any bath product that helps me reach that moment of bliss even sooner or more deeply, is a winner in my book!

The french lavender is subtle and soothing and as the bubbles gain momentum with hot water, stress seems to melt away.

I swear I feel like I’m in a little French country town as I sink deeper into lavender bliss. And sleep always comes a bit easier when I bathe with this bathtime treat.

I really can’t recommend it highly enough as a gift for the bath-lover in your life or, simply, as a nighttime treat for yourself! Because, as the old saying goes, “Who’ll spoil you if you don’t?”

BF Asks: How do you spoil yourself?

In-My-Tub-Tuesday with Kai Bathing Bubbles

New readers may not know this but bathtime is my faaaaavorite part of the day.

Every night, I relax into a tub with some divine bathing potion soothing away all stress and worries for at least 30 minutes. I read a book – sometimes accidentally dropping said book into tub – (which is why I never borrow books from anyone) and just unplug from the world and unwind.

Bathtime: Time to unplug and unwind

Ahhhhhh, BeautyFrosting Bathtime, take me away!

You may also know that I’m a big fan of the entire Kai fragrance line.

I just love it!

And what could be better than combining two of my loves – Kai fragrance and bathtime?

Enter Kai Bathing Bubbles. The subtle bubbly hug that Kai Bathing Bubbles give me when I soak in its suds is just pure perfection.

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Kai Bathing Bubbles

With its moisturizing vitamin E-rich argan oil and naturally cleansing coconut and sugar ingredients, I step out of the tub with supple, soothed, smooth, soft skin and the subtle hint of Kai’s sweet fragrance. Perfect for bedtime!

Add a book, a cup of tea or a glass of wine, and I am one happy, de-stressed, lucky girl.

You can be de-stressed and lucky too while you luxuriate in your Kai bubble bath!
