In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Whish Pomegranate Three Whishes Body Wash

We all know how I love my nightly bath. But know what makes it even better?
A foamy, frothy, fruity-smelling body wash that makes my body feel adored!

I got all that and more when I tried Whish Three Whishes Body Wash in Pomegranate.

No, I don't just love it because it matches my bathroom...but it doesn't hurt, either!

The wondrous Whish creators removed the typical not-so-lovely drying ingredients (such as sulfate) found in many body washes and replaced them with scrumptiously softening organic ingredients. Perfect for a sumptuous soak in the tub! Especially since I’m still reading Fifty Shades Darker (wink, wink).

The Whish formula sounds more like one of my recipes than a list of body wash ingredients which of course makes me love Whish even more!
This pomegranate formula moisturizes with organic shea butter, organize raspberry butter and organic aloe, cleanses with wheat, sugar and corn derived ingredients and soothes with organic cucumber and organic marigold. DELICIOUS!

And other good stuff from this whimsical Whish body wash? It’s cruelty free, paraben free, DEA & TEA free, petrochemical free and contains all natural & organic ingredients. Love all that!

Plus, I have to admit, the scent reminded me of showering at Southern Methodist University in Virginia Hall back during my Talented And Gifted camp days. It took me right back to Dallas, Summer 1992. Nostalgia gets me every time. The best selling point in the world to a nostalgic girl like me!

Now if only there was a genie in this Three Whishes Body Wash so I could have 3 wishes granted!!!

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Kneipp Eucalyptus Cold & Flu Herbal Bath

Just in time for the Christmas tree lighting at The Grove, this week has been uncharacteristically cold here in Los Angeles.

I’ve had a dozen friends tell me they’re getting sick, their skin is itchy and dry and they just can’t get comfortable!

Now, before you roll your eyes and say how spoiled we Californians are, just know that I have found the perfect winter-sissy-soother out there:

Kneipp Eucalyptus Cold & Flu Herbal Bath

Available sizes: .68 fl. oz. ($5.50), 3.4 oz ($20) and the BIG deal 6.8 fl.oz. ($29)

This fragrant, emerald green bath is a multi-tasker – soothing stress away, relieving sinus pressure, warming chills and lulling me to sleep. The winning ingredient? Essential eucalyptus oil from an evergreen tree.

Kneipp even suggests trying a eucalyptus foot bath when you feel the signs of a cold coming on. Check out their tips here: Therapeutic Foot Soak Tips

If you feel a cold coming on, take your vitamins, take a Kneipp (bath, that is) and call me in the morning.

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Mustela Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath – For Baby & Me

Who you callin’ a baby?

Who you callin' a baby? Mustela Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath ($10)

As we have covered numerous times here on BF, I loooove my nightly bath. I live for it.
So when I find a product that betters my bath, I scream it from the mountain tops.
Consider this me screaming: I am loving Mustela Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath!!!

Rich in marine extracts, its soothing scent deeply relaxes me, helps me wash away any remaining stress of the day and helps me rest more soundly. Specially formulated to clean a baby’s sensitive and delicate skin, my friends – with little ones – swear it’s the closest thing to a baby whisperer at bath time that they can find.

Plus, it’s said to stimulate the senses with its multi-sensory approach: marine smell, foaming touch and ocean blue hue. And we could all use a little sense-awakening, now couldn’t we?

I’m off to take my bath right now. Ahh, Mustela, take me away.

Go get  some Mustela Multi-Sensory Bath (only $10). Really. Like now. Go on.

In-My-Tub-Tuesday: Avon Skin So Soft Original Bath Oil – a handheld walk down Memory Lane

Many of the products that I love are new ones that I’ve found in my solitary quest for cosmetic confections.

But then there are those products that take me back to childhood. Products that I wouldn’t have found without my Mother or Nanny’s love of them.

White Shoulders perfume always makes me think of my beloved grandmother, Nanny.

Estee Lauder perfume always makes me think of my mom in the 1980s.

And then there is Avon.

Avon Skin So Soft

Avon Skin So Soft ($13)

Avon and Mary Kay are biiiiiiiig where I come from.

Everyone knows – or is related to someone – who sells it and, a few times a year, Avon will show up on your doorstep.
Yet another reason why I now love monthly beauty boxes as much as I do.

It reminds me of those magical moments in childhood when those lovely ladies in my life, whom I looked up to so, would open the door and find a bag of little luxuries waiting for them.

So when I was relaxing in my nightly bath last night, my mind wandered to mothers, grandmothers and aunts, how much they teach us and how much we inherit from them in terms of our beauty beliefs, routines and rituals.

As I was doing so, I glanced at the right corner of my bathtub and saw my Avon Skin So Soft that I took from my mom’s beauty closet last time I was home over Christmas.

Avon Skin So Soft ($13)

It made me smile. And not just because it leaves my super dry skin-so-soft as it swears! Over the years, I have used it in my bath for relaxing (as it was intended), as a moisturizing sheen for my parched legs or as a luxurious bronzing potion when I mix a drop or two of the oil with a gel/liquid bronzer.

It does indeed leave my skin-so-soft and my body relaxed but it also takes my heart on a walk down Memory Lane as it holds my hand. And that’s why I love it even more.

I remember my hardworking accounting professor/CPA mom buying it from her client, Gloria, every year. And I remember thinking it must be like a grown-up lady’s version of Girl Scout cookies! (That just made me laugh “saying it out loud”!!)

I think you’ll notice that I’m thinking about the ladies in my life A LOT this month what with Mother’s Day only 13 days away (May 13th for those of you wondering).

I’m looking forward to a May filled with motherly love and, really, appreciation for all women this month. I hope you’ll hold my hand as we take this walk together.

Hope you have a very merry May!
