High-Low 4

This week was one of the most fun – and busiest – weeks of my life!
But I made it through with a myriad of memories and a bunch of new beauty products to tell you about!

Here is my High-Low this week:
HIGHS

1) After missing Rhett Miller’s show in Hermosa last weekend (due to food poisoning), by big brother took me to Rhett’s show at The Troubadour last Monday. An amazing show and a memorable night!

And I ran into some friends there! Fun!

2) I was asked to bake cupcakes for a Puppy Happy Hour that I was attending and came up with this fun recipe: Circus Animal Cookie Cupcakes. Check in on Friday to see the recipe!

4)  Fournier PR & Consulting hosted a lovely “Be Parisian for a Day” event at the Sunset Marquis and I got to check out some brands that I was verrrry excited about!
Leonor Greyl, Talika, Patyka, Orlane, Votre Vu and more were there giving us a glimpse into their new and most beloved products. A super fun afternoon well spent!

 5) Harry Cohn, founder of Columbia Pictures, once said: “If you must get in trouble, do it at the Chateau Marmont.” Well, we didn’t get in trouble. But I did enjoy a fabulous afternoon there on Thursday with my brother, David, and my friend, Meg, of Meg’s Makeup. We were there to see the newest products from Tarte (fabulous, let me tell you!) and I dragged my brother along. He didn’t seem to mind…

6) A new discovery: Tarte Lipsurgence in Spirited. A retro-romantic orangeish-red – perfect for summer. More on that later this week!

7) I came up with a new recipe for pie: Avocado pie with Coconut Graham Cracker Crust, Tequila Whipped Cream and Toasted Coconut. Pie-Oh-my!!

LOW

I was feeling a little low one afternoon, last week, and received 2 not-so-nice comments on YouTube. One said “Nobody cares”. I took it a little too much to heart. But if that’s the lowest low of my week, I consider myself grateful!

LOWS

Coming home after fun times and Vinoteque and becoming violently ill for the whole weekend. The culprit? A grocery store salad at lunch. Ugh.

But wanna know the worst part? David, our friend Jolie and I had been planning on seeing one of my fave musicians, Rhett Miller, in Hermosa Beach on Saturday night. I was so ill I couldn’t go. Boooo. Boooo even more that they said it was the best show he’d ever had. Tear.

Food poisoning and missing Rhett Miller. Yep, that’s about right to get a little bad with such a good week. Luckily, Jolie texted me this picture which did not make me feel better at all:

I am on the mend now so no worries! So much so that Brother says he bought us tickets for Rhett’s Monday Troubadour show. Yeehaw, indeed!
