FabFitFunFriday: Spring In Bloom!

Spring is in bloom, FabFitFun & BeautyFrosting readers, and it is beautiful! Seems like everywhere I look there are pretty pastel palettes. Lovely lilac, flirty fuchsia, ravishing rose, and brilliant blues are the perfect ways to pretty up this spring! Here are just a few of my pretty, pretty picks!

1) Aerin Spring Color Palette in Effortless Spring Radiance, $70

Who doesn’t want to look like the gorgeous Aerin Lauder? Well, now we can — or at least pretty up trying — with her new Spring Color Palette. Available in Garden in Bloom (neutral and fresh) and Garden at Dusk (bold and sultry), these palettes leave you looking as fresh as a rose. Beautiful for brunch or elegant for an evening out, the colorful case alone will give you a littlespring in your step!

2)  Too Faced The Secret to No Makeup Makeup palette, $39

This magical morning-after or morning-meeting makeup is just what you need to look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed early in the morning. It leaves you feeling polished and pretty without feeling made up. And the guide with 3 looks in 3 steps in under 3 minutes is a little Easter egg of its own! Before you can say Good morning, you’ll look like you’re ready to take on the day!

3) Essie Nail Polish in Splash of Grenadine, $8

A playful, lovely lilac-meets-magenta-pink that’s perfect for spring! For fingers or toes, this polish will delight you every time you catch a glimpse of it in the mirror. I just started singing I Feel Pretty looking at it right now. A crowd-pleaser for sure, be prepared for oodles of compliments and questions as to what shade you’re flaunting.

4) Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Fuchsia Flash Matte, $19

My go-to gorgeous color! When you need to brighten up or stand out in pics, this lipstick makes a statement! And what’s the statement, you ask? I am gorgeous! A true matte fuchsia with a powerful punch, this shade wears on and on. It wears so well that you’ll think you need to reapply until you look in the mirror and see that it hasn’t moved a bit, even if you’ve been moving all night long.

5) Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Lilac Rose, $42

As part of Bobbi’s new limited-edition Lilac Rose collection, this shimmer brick is a fresh take on spring florals. With five bars of light-reflecting, pearlescent shimmer, you have a sweet selection of bright pink, golden pink and icy pink pearl pigments at your fingertips. Use as a candlelit highlighter, a shimmering spring blush or as iridescent eyeshadow. It’s a multipurpose product that will make you feel as shimmering in spring as it is!

6) Le Métier de Beauté Indelible Inks Eyeliner in Artemis $28

This seductive sapphire liner does a lot more than most liners do. Its highly pigmented, no-budge recipe makes for a long-lasting sexy eye. Rain, tears, or dancing the night away, it ain’t movin’! Be sure to give it a few solid seconds to dry and it will wear on and on until you’re ready to take it off.

These pretty, pretty products will definitely put a little “Spring” in your step!

BF

Whatcha’ Wearin’ Wednesday? Nami’s Nails – Taking The Bronze AND Silver

WWW: Nami's Nails

WWW: Nami's Nails

So, it’s a funny thing having a blog.

It’s a growing process, an adventure, lots of fun — and the best creative outlet in the world  for someone with as many interests as me!

One of my favorite things, since childhood, has always been coming up with names for products I love, recipes I create, Barbie dolls- heck – even nicknames for friends and pets.

So it’s pretty fun when I come up with a new idea for, you, my lovely BeautyFrosting readers.

From now on, when I try out a nail polish recipe, I’m gonna name it so we’ll have a reference point.

The first one I’m naming happens to be for my super-stylish friend, Nami’s nails. Remember her? She’s a frequent guest on WWW (Whatcha’ Wearin’ Wednesday)!

She came in a week ago with the most glittery, bronzed – and yet – sophisticated nails.

Nami makes any trend look like an instant classic.
This one was no different.

Since we all have Olympic fever, it only feels appropriate to call this Nami’s Nails-inspired Mani Recipe:
“Taking The Bronze AND Silver”

So just how did she achieve this sparkling look?

2 coats of Essie Ballet Slippers ($5) on the entire nail

And she added a little mint heart on the pinkie nail…but I’m gonna let that be her little secret!

Whatcha’ Wearin’ Wednesday: BeautyFrosting-themed nails

After being inspired by our WWW girl, Nami’s, nails last week, I decided to try a nail design perfectly painted for me.

So what could be better than BeautyFrosting-themed nails?

I took in my card to the salon and asked them to use it for inspiration.

BeautyFrosting-themed nails!

BeautyFrosting-themed nails!

Super fun!

I’m usually pretty classic when it comes to my nail color but THIS WAS FUUUUUN!!

The nail salon applied OPI in Go on Green and then dotted the polish with a french white standard polish.

A BF mani

I loved the result!
And, as an Essie Ballet Slippers & Splash of Grenadine devotee,I think this experience just may have opened me up to more fun nail design in the future.

I mean, why not?

BF Asks: What nail design are you dying to try this summer? Glitter? Lace? Sprinkles? Caviar? Spill it, sister!

Whatcha’ Wearin’ Wednesday: Gold-flecked Robin’s Egg Nail Polish

My friend, Nami, is always stylish.
Like perpetually stylish.

Never have I seen her wearing anything that I wouldn’t want to wear/sport or wish that I could!

She will totally blush reading this but it’s absolutely, positively true.

So when she came to meet me for coffee, last week, and was sporting this fab nail polish,

Nami's gold Glitter-gorgeous, Robin's egg perfect mani

you know I had to ask —-

BF: Nami, Whatcha’ Wearin’?

Nami: Essie Mint Candy Apple polish with an American Apparel Gold Glitter Nail Polish overlay.

BF: I covet your nails. They are beyond stylish.

Nami: You can have them too. Seriously! I took my own polish to my fave neighborhood salon: Essie Mint Candy Apple with an overlay of American Apparel Glitter polish. Sephora also makes a great gold glitter overlay! That’s it.
BF: I could never rock those!
Nami: Oh YES, YOU COULD!!! And SHOULD!!!
